Well this is me – taken on 1st September 2009. I’ll not talk too much about my faith in this section although it is such a fundamental part of who I am, but I’ll address that on another page I think.
I’m 46 years old and live in Milton Keynes [UK] with my better half Simon and two of my six children [the older ones having grown and gone], dd Millie [16] and ds Ethan [3]. I’m the original Essex girl as I was born in Loughton, Essex in 1963. Simon is a cover science teacher at one of the local senior schools and is responsible for introducing me to online gaming [World of Warcraft] which [along with blogging] appears to have become one of my vices. He’s obviously corrupt lol! My daughter attends a different senior school and is in the middle of her GCSE’s but coping well all things considered. My little lad is the light of my life, such a gift at 42 years old and more than a little unexpected
. I am a stay at home mum for now as Simon and I home educate Ethan at the moment. We’re thoroughly enjoying the challenge and constantly surprised at how much one little 3 year old boy can soak up. Not sure who’s learning the most, us or him!
I [we] enjoy cycling around this huge city with Ethan in his little seat behind Simon. I love reading, cooking [preferably old fashioned fayre, especially cakes], crafting [card making, crochet and cross stitch], music of all kinds, walking [with my old dog Fletcher] and gardening. I’m quite an Eco warrior and have learnt alot more about how to keep our planet beautiful in the last few years.
I have seven guinea pigs, some of whom are adopted from the RSPCA – they’re lovely and very restful to care for. We also have an Oriental cat called Kai who is rather regal but a bit of a rascal on the quiet. Recently we bought him a ‘girl friend’ Hannah who is a little princess but sadly she knows it. Far too pretty for her own good.
Well I think that’s me for now - I may update again as birthdays roll round and life moves on.

How old are your older children? Mum of 6 at 42, wow!!
Nicola [aka fallulah] xx
You’ve been sussed. That’s what comes of having to leave your email lol.
Hope you had a great time away my lovely?? xx
Love you xx

You look good for a mum of 6:)
i read your blog all the time, it helps me
Angel ~ thank you for the compliment – I sometimes feel more like 145 ;o). I’m glad you find what you need in my blog. We write these things not really knowing if it’s just for ourselves or whether it ‘gives’ to other people’s needs as well. It’s lovely to have some feedback occasionally.
Every blessing and do come back again.
love

I am so sorry to read of what happened to your dear son!
I hope is well now, what a worry that must have been for you! I said a pray for him when i read your entry!!
Is he your eldest child?
I also hope Ethan is better now! You have certainly had your hands full!
Angel.
Hello Angel
Thank you so much for your prayers for my son Mike. He is on the mend but we’re all very surprised at how long it took him to recover, he’s still a bit shakey even now. Mike is the fourth of six and the middle son as I have Girl,Boy,G,B,G,B in that order – how clever is that???
))
Ethan is definitely on the mend today but we’re both feeling a bit the worse for wear with his bug. Luckily neither of us has the horrible cough tho’.
Do you have a blog – you can leave me the link on a comment if you do? I can keep it private and delete the comment if you’d rather. I deleted your ‘extra’ comments – no problems, I’m always doing that on other blogs lol. ;o)
Take good care
Pax

Hi,
I dont have a blog, i just read others! I felt a bit stupid leaving 3 comments! I dont write on many peoples blogs but i have read this one and your old one and just wanted to comment!
3 Girls and 3 Boys, alternantly!! Very clever! Bet many people cant do that! I should think Michael is still shakey, i hope he has learnt from this lesson. I will pray for him again tonight
How old are all your children, if you dont mind my asking!
I have one, a son who is 17 years old! Oh the teenage years are fun!!!
I hope you are feeling a bit better this wet evening!
I need to turn in!!

Hi Ann
Sadly the move is still ‘pending’ and looks to be so for a while yet. I’m pushing it all to the back of my mind for the festive season.
with love to you and the boys.

ps – my blog appears to be attracting rather alot of 35+ attention – very interesting!!! lol
Hi Sharon.
Hope you persevere with Benedictine Daily Prayer.
As an Anglican who has used the ‘Divine Office’ for over 30 years, and having just started using ‘Bednedictine Daily Prayer’ myself, I find it a breath of fresh air, holding on to the Benedictine tradition and yet letting in new and meditative texts. I have found it a joy to pray with.
Hi Spideog
I’m just loving the BDP book ~ I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks now and it’s everything I wanted in a prayer book and more. It challenges me, lifts me up and I find it ’speaks’ to me daily. I was definately ready for the next stage after having used my more ‘organised’ prayer books which had it all there on the one page [nice and easy during my novice days] but only gave you a week before it all began again ad infinitum.. I must be growing in my faith and understanding even though I don’t always feel like I am.
I’ve been asked to write a review of it for the other Oblates at Turvey so I shall be giving that some thought over the next week or so. I shall probably quote some of your comment within that review if that’s okay with you??
Every blessing and thank you for visiting xx
